The iPhone brings together several features of the iPod, digital camera, smartphones and even portable computing to one device, with a widescreen display and an innovative input method.
Featuring a new input technology called “Multi-Touch” the iPhone features only a single “home” button, and is controlled by sliding a finger across its touch-sensitive 3.5-inch, 160 pixel-per-inch display.
The iPhone, which runs Mac OS X, has full iTunes integration and can also seamlessly sync data with a desktop, including music and videos from iTunes, contacts, calendars, photos, notes, bookmarks and email accounts.
The 11.6-millimeter thick device also sports a 2-megapixel camera, headset jack, 3.5-millimeter audio jack, SIM tray, a “sleep-wake” switch, speaker, microphone input and an iPod dock connector. The quad-band GSM + EDGE phone also has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0 capabilities. Jobs noted 3G capabilities will come in the future.
Three smart sensors also help control the iPhone’s behavior. A proximity sensor shuts down the display and touchscreen when the phone is held to the ear. An ambient light sensor automatically adjusts screen brightness to save power. Meanwhile, an accelerometer lets the phone know whether to display in portrait or landscape mode.

When it comes to video games, the one that raised gaming up by several notches is the Playstation 2 or PS2 as its endearing fans call it. It remains a major player in the vidgame ring with new games being published for it each year.

Its large repertory of games helps it enjoy continued popularity. The PlayStation-2 computer entertainment system is small, slim and network ready. And it has an enormous game library - over 1,400 games - to choose from! The redesigned PlayStation2 inherits the basic functions and design philosophy of earlier PS2 systems, but the internal design architecture has been completely overhauled to include the latest technologies. Renew your current PS2.
If you’re just getting into videogames, the PS2 is a great place to start. You’ll love it! Play DVD videos and audio CD discs on your PS2 DualShock analog controller with pressure sensitivity on every action button (up to 255 levels) and the enhanced mobility of the analog thumbsticks
Nintendo Wii

The Wii is designed around a menu of “channels”. There is of course the game-playing channel, where the Wii will play any Wii or GameCube game. Simply load the disc in and go. There is a Mii channel where you set up a profile and avatar to connect to all your game playing. The Photos channel lets you look at photos on your TV. Other channels for news, weather, and online shopping require an interent connection; the news and weather were not actually working at launch time.
The system does NOT have a regular network cable port, which both the PS3 and XBox 360 have. Instead, it works with built in wireless or with a USB network adapter. I am a firm proponent of wireless - less clutter! So I am thrilled that they offer wireless automatically. With the PS3, you have to pay extra for the 60 gig unit to get this built in. The XBox 360 requires extra hardware as well.
It’s hard to generalize gameplay on any console - it really depends on what games you buy. That being said, the comes-with-it software of Sports is really quite fun and is about as basic as you can get. You swing at baseballs, lob tennis balls, bowl, box and play golf. A “fitness” mode puts you through a variety of tasks and then calculates your fitness age, sort of like how Brain Age keeps track of your mental age. If you did both every day, you could aim to be as fit mentally and physically as possible!

Apple iPod shuffle armband
Posted by Bird in MP3 & Media Players, iPods
This armband is very comfortable, inobtrusive, and practical. I use it with my iPod Shuffle while I run. It does a great job protecting the device from moisture and the elements, keeps the excess headphone cord out of the way, and allows for decent access to the iPod controls in use.

When I was searching for armbands, I was concerned that this one would be subpar, because it is half the price of almost every other Shuffle armband (and also the picture is not very flattering). On the contrary, it is definitely a quality piece of equipment. It far surpasses the Apple armband, since it protects the iPod, has a space to gather up the excess cord, and is SO much cheaper. In fact, the Apple armband (and probably all the other ones) is a complete ripoff. I would even suggest that the Tune Belt armband is overpriced for what it is. That being said, it’s basically the cheapest one you’ll find (that’s specifically made for the Shuffle).

Waterproof Housing - iPod Nano
Posted by Bird in MP3 & Media Players, iPods
I love swimming indoors, but have become bored with the monotony of swimming lap after lap after lap. I purchased this product in attempt to get excited about swimming laps again, and to get back into the pool. I must say, it has been a huge success. Swimming to my favorite upbeat, fast-paced tunes has greatly increased my motivation to get into the pool, and to stay longer! I have been just tucking it into my swimsuit and it stays in there. It has proven to be 100% waterproof, and has protected my precious ipod nano. The volume is good. I’m still fidgeting with the headphones..

Canon PowerShot SD750 7.1MP Camera 3x Optical Zoom Black

Canon upgrades to the Ixus line include a DiGiC III image processor, and in the case of the Ixus 75, a 3-inch LCD screen. The new chip makes short work of full-resolution photos, which translates into faster response times – perfect for spur-of-the-moment, shoot-from-the-hip situations. The Ixus 75 also has face-detection technology, which, along with determining the focus point of the shot, adjusts exposure values and flash levels accordingly. The face-detection feature even tracks faces if the camera, or the subject, is in motion.

With this model, Canon has moved away from the directional-style navigation pad to a touch-sensitive dial, which may take some getting used to. That learning curve however, flattens when you take a look at the 3-inch screen. The LCD is big, bright, and beautiful. The added real estate makes composing and reviewing shots a joy. What about the output? Colors are lifelike and usually sharp, except when shooting at higher ISO, with the flash turned off, but that is to be expected – after all, the Ixus is still a point and shoot, and not a DSLR. Aside from that, the only other quibbles are the lack of real-time indicators for battery level and a more powerful zoom.
The Ixus’ compact and durable alloy body, with a black ring accentuating the lens area, pays homage the days when the Ixus was an “idiot” 35mm camera. Make no mistake about it, however, the Ixus 75 is a touch of pure genius.
